Starting in the 2026-27 season, The FA (Football Association) is introducing mandatory 3v3 football for U7s, with optional participation for U8s, as part of the Future Fit initiative.

This new format is designed to increase player touches, involvement, and technical development. Matches are played on smaller pitches without goalkeepers, encouraging high-paced action and enjoyment.

The 3v3 format focuses on fun, engagement, and development within a non-competitive, festival-style environment.
