The Primary Science Teaching Trust (PSTT) supports this with practical tools for outdoor education. • The Playground Science activity cards feature self-directed activities with initial ideas, questions, and follow-up tasks, promoting exploration and scientific investigation. Each set includes drawstring bags for equipment to be added and a teacher's guide. For lower primary, the investigations focus on time and measurement, forces and motion, light and colour, investigating minibeasts and sound. For upper primary, the investigations focus on measurement and time, magnetism, magnification, observation and light. The Science and STEM Trails books offer 29 trail ideas and additional materials, adaptable to various school environments. Topics cover biodiversity to states of matter, making real-world connections to scientific concepts. This resource supports Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 science by encouraging practical inquiry and observation.
