The GX Series grand pianos benefit from the groundbreaking Millennium III ABS-carbon action, delivering an incredibly responsive touch with superb balance and control.

Millennium III Action

The ground-breaking Millennium III Action utilises components made of ABS-Carbon—a composite material infused with carbon fibre. ABS-Carbon is incredibly strong and rigid, meaning that GX Series action parts can be made lighter without sacrificing strength. The result is a stronger, faster action that offers more power, better control and greater stability than conventional all-wood actions.

Tapered, solid spruce soundboard

The purpose of the soundboard is to transform the vibrations of the piano’s strings into a rich, resounding tone. Kawai uses only straight-grained, quarter-sawn solid spruce for GX Series soundboards. Each one is strategically tapered to provide the optimum degree of resonant movement in each region. Only soundboards that meet or exceed our demanding resonance standards are selected for use in the GX Series grand pianos.

Soft-closing fallboard

While the entry-level model in the grand piano range, the Kawai GX 6 also benefits from a soft-closing lid or fallboard. A luxurious feature previously only high end instruments and means no more trapped fingers!

NEOTEX key surface

Kawai's exclusive NEOTEX key surface material is made of cellulose fibre which offers a smooth, understated texture of natural ivory and ebony. The semi-porous, silica-filled surface allows for the natural hand oils to be absorbed.

Both the sharps and naturals have this NEOTEX surface so the feel is consistent across the entire keyboard and cracking and fading over time is prevented. The final result is beautiful, long-lasting and allows for exceptional playability.
