These A5 activity cards are tailored to Year 2 and link to the National Numeracy Framework. • Each card has a starting visual on the front, with an activity on the reverse to get your Yr 2 pupils thinking! • Each card also features: Key Questions/Talk Point, Key Vocabulary, Suggested Resources to use, Where the activity is suitable for i.e. indoors/outdoors (or even at home), and how many pupils the activity is suitable for. • The activities encourage mathematical oracy, allowing children to express their thoughts and ideas fluently through speech, and articulate their mathematical thinking and reasoning. Through discussion, pupils develop deeper understanding of the maths they are learning. The cards also give teachers the chance to assess what pupils know and understand.
