suitable for KS4+. A large scale transformer, ideal for GCSE and A-Level Physics classroom demonstrations such as the step up and step down transformer principle. The principles used also show how transformers are used in domestic electrical appliances and in the National Grid for power transmission.  It consists of a magnetic circuit made up of highly permeable U-shaped metal sheeting which can be closed via two clamps with tightening screws.Includes one coil of 500 turns and one mains coil of 1000 turns.Magnetic core section: 40 x 40mm, Length 150mm, Height 170mm.
