The Cosmo Learning System is an award-winning, play-centred learning and therapy tool designed for mainstream and SEND settings. It combines eight Cosmo Dots (multi-sensory, Bluetooth-enabled smart controllers) with the Cosmo App, featuring 35+ interactive activities across four curriculum-aligned Learning Suites within the app.

Co-designed with teachers and therapists, Cosmo builds cognitive, motor, social, and emotional skills through interactive play.

The Cosmo App includes a complete library of interactive activities, grouped into themed Learning Suites, each focusing on a different developmental or educational area. This gives teachers and therapists a flexible toolkit for every learner:

• Cosmo Music Learning Suite – rhythm and sound activities that build self-expression, musical understanding, coordination and team work.
• Cosmo Ability Learning Suite – adaptable activities supporting cognitive, motor, social, and emotional development, designed especially for SEND settings.
• Cosmo Grow Learning Suite – progressive activities for early years and foundational education, supporting attention, social and emotional communication, early critical thinking and problem solving.
• Cosmo Lab Learning Suite – STEM-based activities introducing core concepts in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through hands-on exploration.

Using the Cosmo Learning system for music

• Compose musical pieces: Assign notes to the Cosmoids and layer loops, allowing students to experiment with different instruments, scales and rhythm in an interactive way.
• Play your favourite music: Enable students to play their favourite songs using our accessible media players and touch-sensitive controls.
• Explore varied musical genres: Take turns playing instrumental loops in different genres and explore various musical instruments.
• Use Cosmo as a MIDI controller: Connect with GarageBand, ThumbJam, and other music apps to create professional-quality sounds with a simple touch.
• Practise transferable skills: Encourage independent exploration, teamwork and communication to create a foundation for long-life learning.
• Personalised Experience: Customise difficulty levels, brightness and touch-sensitivity of Cosmoids to foster a student-centred learning environment.
• Curriculum Alignment: Easily integrates with the National Curriculum, Sounds of Intent music skills framework, and Engagement Model for measurable learning outcomes.

Building musical fundamentals

The Learning System includes a variety of engaging activities designed to support musical development, creativity, and collaboration. For early learners, Exploration introduces cause-and-effect relationships by letting students control music playback simply by pressing the Cosmoids. Toggle builds on this by strengthening listening skills and reaction time as students play and pause tracks. In My Orchestra, learners collaborate to mix and match instrumental loops, creating their own ensemble and fostering both teamwork and musical creativity. Improvisation invites students to explore scales and compose melodies by assigning notes to Cosmoids, encouraging expressive and interactive play.
